Ladies Can't Wait
Giclee

As I sit here, the days are beautiful and long. The sun beats down
on the Comox Valley, leaving it dry. Leaves have yet to change colour
and winter is seemingly a long way off. Summer is such a wonderful
time of year.
The sunny skies and lengthy days have inspired me to once again
look towards a creature that is sure to put a smile on one’s
face—the ladybug. These magnificent insects are heralded by
gardeners and children alike. They eat the bad bugs and fill kids
with luck and whimsy.
During the winter months, the ladybug finds a cozy spot to hibernate
and waits for the first warming, drying rays of the spring sunshine.
By the time spring arrives, the Ladies grow a little impatient and
can’t wait any longer to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.
Much like the Ladies I, too, am fed up with an indoor life and take
great pleasure in getting outside. “Ladies Can’t Wait”
is my second print focusing on ladybugs.
“Ladies Can’t Wait” is a limited
edition print using the giclée method of printmaking. Print
production took place during August of 2004 at the artist’s
own studio in Comox B.C. A total of 133 prints bear the title “Ladies
Can’t Wait” and are signed by Andy Everson: 120 in the
primary edition bearing the numbers 1/120 through 120/120; 12 Artist’s
Proofs; and 1 Printer’s Proof. The acid-free 100% cotton Royal
Riviera Rag paper measures 6.5x19 inches. Image size measures about
5.5x18inches.
